The license model – simple & fair
I like software that is easy to understand – and that is exactly how the ruesken.net license model is meant to work: clear, fair and transparent. No subscription traps, no hidden costs and no unnecessarily complicated license terms.
Each Everyday Tool is available with two license types: a private license and a commercial license.
A private license is exclusively intended for use by one individual in a private, non-business environment. This includes personal projects, private documents, hobbies, clubs or purely personal use outside any professional, self-employed, business or institutional context.
A commercial license is required for any use in a professional, business, self-employed, freelance, corporate, governmental, educational, academic, non-profit or other organizational context. This applies regardless of whether the use directly generates revenue.
Important: Each license – whether private or commercial – is always issued to a specific individual. It is personal, non-transferable and only entitles the licensed person to use the respective software. Shared use by multiple people, teams, departments or organizations is not covered by the license.
Here’s how it works:
A license is valid indefinitely for the major version you purchase.
For example, if you purchase version 1, you can permanently unlock and use that specific major version.
All updates within this major version are included.
Bug fixes, small improvements and optimizations are simply part of the package and do not cost you anything extra.
If a new major version is released later, fair upgrade conditions will be available.
I want upgrades to be worthwhile – without making anyone feel like they constantly have to buy the software again. The exact details for future upgrades will follow once they become relevant.
