A new download arrives in the folder. An export needs to be moved regularly. Files need to be sorted, renamed, archived, or processed further according to specific rules.
With rsk.guardian, you define once what should happen. After that, the process runs automatically.
You determine the trigger, define your conditions, and decide what should happen with the matching files.

Why another piece of software, anyway?
I ask myself that question with every new project.
I don’t develop a tool just because it’s technically possible. There has to be a problem that annoys me, a process that is unnecessarily complicated, or an existing solution that is missing something I need.
Then I’ll start building.
In doing so, I try to stick to a few principles: the software should be easy to understand; it should perform its core task well; and it should impose as few restrictions as possible on how you manage your data.
That’s why my tools run locally. That’s why there are no subscriptions. And that’s why you don’t need to create a user account just to try out an application.

I started developing software long before I made a living from it. I’ve been doing it professionally since 2002—and I still enjoy it just as much today.
ruesken.net is my own personal project. It’s a place where I can bring to life the ideas I simply enjoy working on. No big software company, no anonymous team, and no made-up startup story.
I develop the applications myself and also take care of improving them.
