rsk.guardian · Feature reference
From trigger to final action—transparent automation.
rsk.guardian combines flexible triggers, precise conditions, and multi-step actions into traceable file workflows. Open a section for details.
01Monitored folders and sources+
- Monitor any number of folders with individual names, paths, notes, and active states.
- Include subfolders and select files through include/exclude patterns as a filtered smart-folder view.
- Manage multiple prioritized rules per folder and reorder them by drag and drop.
02Monitoring and triggers+
- React to created, changed, or renamed files using watcher, interval, scheduled, or hybrid monitoring.
- Run rules at application startup or manually, with separate control over files and folders.
- Runtime state prevents accidental duplicate interval and scheduled executions.
03When and except conditions+
- Filter by name, path, extension, type, size, age, timestamps, archive type, attributes, or text content.
- Combine contains, starts with, ends with, regex, comparisons, ranges, and boolean checks.
- Evaluate sortable condition groups as all, any, or none.
04Check and explain rules+
- Check rules before saving for missing actions, incompatible file/folder logic, and risky archive configurations.
- Detect unknown tokens, targets inside the source, and likely ineffective combinations early.
- Explain each rule in plain language: when it starts, what it affects, and which actions follow.
05File actions+
- Copy, move, safely delete, rename, and sort into subfolders using dynamic patterns.
- Remove empty folders, write logs, and show classic notifications or desktop toasts.
- Handle conflicts explicitly by creating a unique name, skipping, overwriting, or failing.
06Archives and workspace pipelines+
- Create ZIP, TAR, and TAR.GZ; extract ZIP, 7Z, RAR, TAR, GZ, BZ2, XZ, and combined formats.
- Build destination and archive names dynamically from dates, file names, extensions, and relative paths.
- Extract into a workspace, apply subsequent actions to its contents, and repack the result.
07Preview and dry run+
- Test a complete folder or only the selected rule without changing files.
- Inspect affected files, matching rules, ignored target areas, and every planned action in advance.
- Long previews show progress without blocking the interface.
08History and current work+
- Trace runs by folder, rule, trigger, status, duration, and every affected item.
- Filter, page, export, and clean global, folder-specific, or rule-specific history.
- View active folders, rules, and current paths, cancel work, and create a ZIP diagnostic export.
09JavaScript actions+
- Integrate custom actions as a JavaScript run(ctx) function directly into a rule.
- Use a full editor with syntax highlighting, function navigation, ctx-field insertion, and testing tools.
- Guardrails limit script length, statement count, and runtime.
10Tray operation and quick actions+
- Keep running in the tray, pause or resume watchers, and open the main window when needed.
- Launch manual rules from the tray flyout and review recent activity.
- See watcher, folder, interval, and schedule status at a glance while preventing a second application instance.
11Safety and operational stability+
- Run only one workflow per folder and serialize watcher, schedule, and manual starts.
- Recheck source existence and stability before writes and retry transient I/O failures automatically.
- Record expected locks or missing files as skipped while reporting genuine defects clearly as failures.
